Planning a Boat Inspection?
Send vessel type, length, location, inspection purpose and preferred timing. We'll confirm the scope and quotation.
Before Your
Inspection
Scope, access, reporting and specialist requests – the key details before your visit.
What does an inspection cover?
The agreed scope may include accessible hull and structural areas, propulsion, electrical, navigation and safety systems. The scope is confirmed before the visit.
Does the boat need to be lifted out of the water?
Not always. A lift-out may be needed to assess underwater hull areas or components that cannot be accessed while afloat. Any haul-out requirements should be discussed and agreed before the inspection.
How is the quotation prepared?
The quotation is based on the vessel type and size, its location, the requested scope and any access or specialist requirements. The proposed scope and fees are confirmed before scheduling.
What will I receive?
The agreed reporting deliverables may include documented observations, photographs and practical follow-up priorities. The report format and included items are confirmed with the inspection scope.
Are underwater inspection and NDT included?
Underwater inspection and non-destructive testing (NDT) should not be assumed to be part of a standard visual inspection. If needed, request them in advance so availability, method and any additional fees can be confirmed.
Can the report be used for insurance or licensing?
Requirements vary by insurer and authority. Please share the intended use and any required report standard before booking, so the suitability of the proposed inspection can be checked. Acceptance is determined by the receiving organisation.
